Looking for some carving pumpkins? Or maybe you want run through a corn maze. Plan a visit to one of these local pumpkin patches.
Gaver Farm
Gaver’s has a great selection of pumpkins and apples, but the real fun happens inside the farm’s fall festival. Kids of all ages can enjoy more than 50 attractions including the 7 acre corn maze, bouncy houses and giant slides. Quench your thirst with an apple cider slushie, munch on treats from the Donut Hut and take home a fresh baked pie.
Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch
This Frederick County pumpkin patch has pumpkins, corn mazes and activities with some of the best prices in Maryland. Pick-your-own pumpkins start at just 59 cents a pound and admission to the farm is free on the weekdays.
Clark’s Elioak Farm
Known for its Enchanted Forest village from the old park in Ellicott City, Clark’s Elioak Farm is Howard County’s go to family farm. In the fall, visitors can pick up pumpkins and indulge in variety of activities from pony rides to spooky train rides.
Triadelphia Lake View Tree Farm
TLV picking a pumpkin is an adventure. Hitch a ride to the pumpkin patch via hayride and choose from mini pumpkins pie and large pumpkins starting at just $1 dollar each. TLV is open for pumpkin picking on the weekends through October.
Butler’s Orchard
Butler’s Orchard is a family farm that hosts pick-your-own events throughout the year. Stop into the Farm Market or pick your own starting at 69 cents a pound. The orchard also hosts Pumpkin Harvest Days, a self-guided tour for the little ones that includes a small pumpkin and take home activity sheet.
Heyser Farms
This Montgomery County farm is famous for its fresh pressed apple cider and apple cider donuts, both made on site. Choose a pumpkin from the market or pick one from the fields. Heyser Farms also hosts special events during the fall and winter seasons.
Montpelier Farms
If you live near Upper Marlboro and work late, Montpelier Farms is the place for you. This pumpkin patch stays open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 7 p.m. on Sundays. Pumpkins are just $3 for five pounds and under or 60 cents a pound for the larger ones.
Queen Anne Farm
Queen Anne Farm is a pumpkin haven carrying more than eleven varieties of regular and heirloom pumpkins. Take pictures with the straw animal sculptures, visit the pumpkin house and shop the farmers market. In you hate carving pumpkins, stop by on Halloween Eve to get your own pre-cleaned pumpkin!
Jones Family Farm
Jones Family Farm has a two options for pumpkin seekers. Visit the indoor market to pick one from the displays or head out to the fields. Bring the kids and take pictures with the giant measuring stick or try your luck at the corn maze.
