The Christmas Village allows visitors to experience a traditional European Christmas market.
One of the biggest draws at the Christmas Village is the food. Traditional German favorites like Wiener Schnitzel, hot pretzels, and bratwurst are available at the food court promenade and at booths throughout the market. You can also try Raclette Stube—sandwiches topped with hot, melted Swiss cheese—or enjoy a cone of Belgian fries with your choice of dipping sauces. New for 2025 is the Kebab’s Grill, featuring beef and chicken kebabs made popular at Baltimore’s Wine Village.
The centerpiece of the Christmas Village is the Glühwein Pyramid, a 30-foot wooden carousel originally from the Ore Mountains of Germany. Covered in twinkling lights, the carousel adds warmth and cheer to the harbor. The Pyramid also serves as a drink stand, offering a selection of holiday beverages, including four varieties of Glühwein. One of the best ways to sample the Village’s drink menu is by purchasing a value-priced mug package inside the Visitors Center.
Throughout the season, the German Christmas Village is hosting a full lineup of entertainment to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Along with daily live performances, Santa will make appearances and the market will feature themed events including a German American Weekend, a singles speed-dating night, and a dog Pawrade benefiting BARCS. Wine and beer tastings are also offered —check the website for a complete schedule.
The market has more than 70 vendors, including Germany’s famous Käthe Wohlfahrt, an ornament and Christmas decor company. Get a personalized holiday ornament, pick up an authentic Christmas Stollen cake or box of Lebkuchen, German Gingerbread cookies. You’ll also find jewelry, art and candles made by local Maryland artisans.
The Christmas Village is open from noon to 8 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and noon to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The market is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Admission to the outdoor areas is free, with a $5 entry fee for the indoor pavilion on weekends. Convenient all-day parking is available for $15 at Harbor Court Garage (30 E. Lee St.) and $10 at Lockwood Place Garage (124 Market Pl.) with QR-code redemption at the Carousel or Information Booth.
